Education Summit planned for Feb. 7

Northeast Texas Community College will host its second Education Summit on Thursday, February 7 from 7-10 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The general public is invited to attend. The Education Summit is the kick-off event for the NTCC strategic planning process that will take place over the coming months. What do you imagine NTCC could look like in 2020? Join us at the Education Summit to get in on the conversation!

Harmony High School financial aid night scheduled

Justin loves math and science, and he says his favorite day of the school week is Wednesday because he knows that in ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) he has Robotics classes that day! Because Justin is such a math/science guy, the school?s CIS and ACE Site Coordinators both regularly talk to him about going to college after he graduates from high school.

Baseball opens season at home Friday

The opening of Eagles baseball season is scheduled to get off to a quick start this weekend as NTCC hosts Cedar Valley for a double-header Friday afternoon before the Eagles take on Hill College in another double-header Saturday.
The Eagles finished up the Spring 2012 season with a record of 33-17, including a 26-10 mark in the tough Texas Eastern Athletic Conference, and NTCC will be looking to put together another great season in 2013.

Eagles Softball opens season Saturday

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles softball team will be looking to kick off the season with a pair of wins Saturday as they host Hill College for a double-header beginning at 1 p.m.

Led by new head coach Jessica Keith, the Eagles will be looking to turn heads in 2013.

?I believe we have the players that we need to put together a good season this year,? Keith said about her 2013 squad.

Whatley Center to host pianist Thomas Pandolfi

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.


The concert will feature a mix of classical, jazz, ragtime and Broadway music. Selections will include Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, George Gershwin, Edward MacDowell, Scott Joplin, Leroy Anderson, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.


"This will be our second year in a row to host Thomas Pandolfi for a concert at the Whatley Center.

NTCC Weather Procedure



It is that time of year when the weather can be unpredictable in this area. As we have already seen in December, severe winter weather can sneak up on us. Northeast Texas Community College wants to make sure that all students and employees have access to timely, accurate information regarding possible weather-related closures.




In case of bad weather, the decision to close or not will usually be made by 6 a.m. for day classes and by 3 p.m. for evening classes.

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area.
