Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted 11 new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges. Click here for photos!
Inductees included Victoria Anderson of Pittsburg, Lauren Fennimore of Mount Pleasant, Dillon Gardner of DeKalb, Heather Humble of Hughes Springs, Joseph McCain of Mount Pleasant, Alex Nunn of Mount Pleasant, Keelie Starek of Mount Pleasant, Amanda Thigpen of Naples, Jessica Whitsel of Mount Pleasant and Katie Worthey of Mount Pleasant. Mitchell Ward was also inducted, but was not present at the ceremony.
New officers (pictured) †were also installed. These included:†Katie Worthey, Reporter;†Stephanie Murphy, President; Jerry†Ostrom, Historian; Dillon Gardner, Parliamentarian; and Heather Humble, Vice President.
Psi Beta chapters sponsor programs, activities, and participation in community service projects along with opportunities topresent research papers at regional meetings, attend national meetings, and compete for national awards. Students are chosen for membership based on their outstanding overall scholarship and their scholarship in the field of psychology. Psi Beta is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.
