Psi Beta inducts new members

Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted 11 new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges.

NTCC Softball breaks winning streak against North Central

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) softball team dropped†both games of†a double header against North Central Texas College on Wednesday. The losses broke a six-game winning streak for the Eagles.

Sophomore infielder Alizabeth Autrey scored the first run of the game after an error by North Central?s third baseman. Neither team scored again until the bottom of the fourth when Kelsey Moulder hit a solo home run for the Eagles.

Eagles Baseball pick up a win over the weekend

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Eagles baseball team hosted a nine-game tournament this weekend with four teams from Texas, Kansas and Louisiana battling it out over three days. The highlight of the weekend for the Eagles was Sunday night when freshman pitcher Tim Winders led NTCC to a convincing 11-3 victory against the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers jumped on the board first with one run in the second inning, but the Eagles took a commanding lead in the third, scoring seven runs.

Theatre Northeast presents Butterflies Are Free

Butterflies Are Free, by Leonard Gershe, opens February 27 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the Northeast Texas Community College campus. In this Tony Award-winning comedy, a young blind man and the free-spirited girl-next-door discover the values of self-reliance and dependence.

The play, performed by Theatre Northeast, centers on Don Baker, a Greenwich Village newcomer who struggles to create an independent life for himself apart from his family in Scarsdale.

Eagles softball sweeps Angelina College

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles softball team added another two notches to their belt Monday afternoon, sweeping Angelina College by scores of 9-3 in the first game and 10-4 in the second.

Freshman pitcher Hailey Dixon led NTCC to their first win of the day. Angelina college scored the first two runs of the game in the fourth inning and held the Eagles at bay until the sixth, when NTCC scored five runs.

Eagles softball dominates Ranger College in four-game series

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Eagles softball team dominated Ranger College during Friday and Saturday?s four game series, improving their record to 6-2 for the season.


† † † †The first two innings of game one on Friday were stalemates, with sophomore infielder Chelcey Faglie driving in the first and only runs of the game in the bottom of the third.
