Softball splits against Bossier, Kilgore

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) softball team†split two against Bossier Parish and Kilgore College†over the weekend and†dropped a doubleheader against Trinity Valley Community College on Wednesday.

Trinity Valley put the first one on the board during Wednesdays first game, the Eagles scored their first run during the fourth and Trinity Valley put three on the board during the fifth. The Eagles answered with four runs in the fifth, two off of a double by Kelsey Moulder and two off of a home run by Alizabeth Autrey.

Baseball drops three games to Angelina

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (NTCC) baseball team dropped a three-game series to the Angelina College Roadrunners over the weekend.

Zach Osborne led the Eagles during the Saturday game and allowed the Roadrunners only one run in the sixth. The Eagles were unable to put any runs on the board and finished the game with a 1-0 defeat after nine innings.

Sunday's first game started with the Roadrunners taking an early lead in the third with two runs, the Eagles regained ground in the sixth when Jason Jones hit a homerun and scored along with Casey Dickerman.

Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) †is getting a new look as it approaches 30 years of serving the area. This week, the college unveiled a new logo and branding campaign that highlights NTCC's commitment to providing responsible, exemplary learning opportunities.




Last fall, NTCC engaged the services of Interact Communications, one of the top community college marketing firms in the country, to conduct market research, create a recognizable brand and develop a comprehensive marketing and recruitment plan.

Lauren Fennimore earns scholarship to present research at psychology conference

Lauren Fennimore of Mount Pleasant, a Northeast Texas Community College Psi Beta member, applied and received a scholarship to attend and present her research at the 26th Annual Association for Psychological Science (APS) Conference in San Francisco May 22-May 25.


This honor was awarded by the National Psi Beta Honor Society in partnership with APS.††Fennimore competed with other Psi Beta students and only eight scholarships were awarded nationally.††The research conducted by the Psi Beta members was only a portion of the consideration for awarding the schol

PTA program graduates earn 100% pass rate on licensure exam



The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at Northeast Texas Community†College recently learned that its graduating class of†2013†had a 100% pass rate on the†first attempt for its state licensure exams. According to program director Dr. Nancy Wilson, this is the sixth†year in a row that the program has had all†students pass on the first try.

Two NTCC Honors students win Caldwell essay awards

Northeast Texas Community College Honors students, Elyse Coleman of Gilmer and Kayleah Cumpian of Mount Pleasant, swept two of the four 2014 Caldwell essay awards given annually by the Webb division of the Texas State Historical Association (for freshmen and sophomores in the colleges and universities of Texas).
