The 2017-2018 NTCC Foundation Scholarship application is now available online.††You can get the application from the NTCC Website or you may stop by the Humanities Bldg Student Services and get a copy.†Please note the priority deadline to have the application back to me is†March 31, 2017.<
NTCC winter commencement Dec. 9
Northeast Texas Community College will host its winter commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Graduates should plan to arrive no later than†6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Free graduations portraits will be taken in the SUB beginning at 6 p.m.
Diploma pick-up for graduates†who filed prior to the October 13th†deadline will be in the back hall of the Whatley Center after the ceremony ends.

Two NTCC sophomores named Jack Kent Cooke semifinalists
Two Northeast Texas Community College sophomores learned they have been named semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Ryan-Rose Mendoza and Melody Mott learned of the honor this week. Their applications were among more than 2,800 submitted by students across the nation. Only 20% of applicants made it to semifinalist status.

Construction Update for Dec. 8
? The power will be cut to the central original buildings this weekend (Dec. 10 & 11). Please make sure to power down your computers so they are not affected.
? The LRC and SUB will not have heat or AC next week. Please dress accordingly if you work in these buildings!
? The north entrance will be closed starting Dec. 10 through the holiday break.
Senator Ted Cruz staffer visits NTCC
Daniel Alders, East Texas Regional Director for Senator Ted Cruz, visited Northeast Texas Community College Wednesday. Dr. Johnson and Dr. McCullough met with him to discuss legislative issues affecting NTCC. He toured the campus and learned about the innovative programs and initiatives being implemented by our faculty and staff.
Hopkins County Police Academy graduation ceremony held
Northeast Texas Community College recently held a graduation ceremony for its Hopkins County Police Academy. Graduating cadets and instructors are pictured: Front row (from left): Lt. Christmas with the Nelsons comes to Whatley Center
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will present Christmas with the Nelsons Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, twin sons of Ricky Nelson, Christmas with the Nelsons tells the story of three family Christmases in the lives of America?s Favorite Family- The Nelsons.
?It has become tradition to have a holiday show at the Whatley Center and we are very pleased to bring you Christmas with the Nelsons.

NTCC closed Nov. 23-25 for Thanksgiving
NTCC offices will be closed and classes will not meet Wednesday, Nov. 23†through Friday, Nov. 25†in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Evening Police Academy offered in New Boston
Northeast Texas Community College is hosting an evening Police Academy (Basic Peace Officer Training) beginning January 9, 2017†at the Elementary School building in New Boston. The training program is 34 weeks and meets from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every second and fourth Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost is $1,556 plus books and uniforms. NTCC offers affordable payment plans and this program qualifies for limited grant assistance for eligible students.
