Scare Affair scheduled for Oct. 22

It?s time to put on your best Halloween costume, dust off your trick-or-treat basket and head out to Northeast Texas Community College for the 29th annual Scare Affair.

The event is from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 on the plaza of the main NTCC campus (located on FM 1735 near Chapel Hill ISD). There will be free candy for all trick-or-treaters, low-cost games for all ages, a costume contest with cash prizes and much more!

Might Bill and Hillary Clinton have something to learn from . . . former Texas governors, Ma and Pa Ferguson? This question drove Austin KUT radio reporter, Joy Diaz to the Honors Northeast film bank, and then to a commentary that was broadcast across Texas by affiliated National Public Radio stations on September 27.

NTCC Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox wrote and aired the commentary.† He noted that the political couples have many similarities.

Art department hosts pottery and sculpture exhibit

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department is hosting Diversity in Clay, a pottery and sculpture exhibit by Llwanda Golden through October 26 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

"Llwanda is a prolific artist with a high level of sophistication and detail. From her whimsical teapots to lifelike human busts, each piece is unique and special," Debbie Strong, NTCC Instructor of Art, said.
