Daingerfield Country Club wins NTCC Golf Classic

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation held its annual Golf Classic October 24 at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. Twelve teams participated in the six-man scramble, raising more than $8,000 to support students participating in the NTCC Work Scholarship Program.†Pilgrim's was Platinum sponsor for the event. Gold sponsors included Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative, Cypress Bank, Daingerfield Country Club, Guaranty Bank and Trust and Luminant.

East Texas Men in Harmony to perform at the Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a vocal performance by the East Texas Men in Harmony Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. This is the first of three shows in a special Sounds of Northeast Texas series highlighting talented musicians from the area.

The East Texas Men in Harmony is approaching its tenth year as a performing chorus. During this time, they have become one of the top choruses in the five-state Southwestern District of the International Barbershop Harmony Society.

Tanika Santos-MacSwain wins Walter B. Cooper scholarship

Alpha Mu Chi, the Northeast Texas Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), recently learned that another student has received a state-wide scholarship award.†Tanika Santos-MacSwain, of The Woodlands,†received the Walter B. Cooper Scholarship at the PTK Texas Leadership Conference. She was one of only three recipients from across the state of Texas.

Psi Beta inducts new members, installs officers

Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted new members and installed officers into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges. Inductees honored at the ceremony were (from left): Wendy Clark of Harleton, Nikki Martin of Mount Pleasant and Russell VanBibber, Jr. of Emory. Health Sciences conducts interdisciplinary simulation event

The Northeast Texas Community College Health Sciences department held its first interdisciplinary simulation that combined Medical Assisting, Nursing, Medical Lab Technician, and Physical Therapist Assistant students October 18†in the Medical Assisting and Simulation Labs.

Students moved through a ?real world? patient scenario that incorporated the full healthcare team.
