NTCC nursing student named Hurst Review NCLEX Scholar
Another Northeast Texas Community College student recently earned a national award. Wycliffe Kenani, an NTCC Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) student, has been named a Hurst Review NCLEX Scholar by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
Kenani was one of only 10 students to receive the honor. This scholarship is designed to assist Phi Theta Kappa nursing students who plan to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEXÆ) during the Spring 2017 term.

Adult Education partners with PISD for ESL classes
The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Department has partnered with Pittsburg ISD to make English as a Second Language (ESL) education more accessible to area residents. Classes are held at Pittsburg Primary School and Pittsburg High School.
NTCC receives $100,000 endowed agriculture scholarship
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $100,000 gift to establish the Charlie and Abbie Brown Memorial Scholarship. The endowment will provide scholarships for Mount Vernon High School graduates attending NTCC and majoring in agriculture.

Restless Heart to perform at the Whatley
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host the chart-topping country music group Restless Heart Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature hits from the 80?s and 90?s like†Wheels, Big Dreams in a Small Town, Fast Movin? Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship
The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an NTCC student majoring in art, music or drama. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened. They also presented a $25 honorarium to the NTCC Art Department. The club made the presentation while holding their club meeting on campus in the art lab. Dr. Ron Clinton to perform solo piano concert
Dr. Ron Clinton, Northeast Texas Community College Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, Jan. 29 at†2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†Tickets to the concert are $15 for adults and $5 for children and NTCC students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for NTCC students.
