Tonya Taylor gives nursing scholarships
Tonya Taylor,†Assistant Professor of Nursing at†Northeast Texas Community College, recently gave $1,200 to the NTCC Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an NTCC Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above (left) with Nita May, NTCC Director of Development.
Theatre Northeast presents Tuesdays With Morrie
Theatre Northeast is proud to present the ?life-affirming? comedy/drama†Tuesdays With Morrie†by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom. They will perform the play, based on the best-selling book by Mitch Albom, July 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20 at 2:05 p.m.
W.G. Foster gives $5,000 to NTCC Work Scholarship Program
W.G. Foster, a long-time resident of Morris County, recently gave $5,000 to sponsor five†students in the Northeast Texas Community College pilot Work Scholarship Program this summer. Students complete NTCC phlebotomy training
The Northeast Texas Community College department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training recently honored 12 students who completed the spring Phlebotomy program. The 200-hour certificate in Phlebotomy prepares students for a career drawing blood in various healthcare settings. Jackie Baker gives $10,000 scholarship
Jackie Baker of Mount Pleasant recently gave $10,000 †to Northeast Texas Community College in order to create an endowed scholarship for the Eagles baseball program. The donation is in memory of her late husband, Bob Baker, who was a long-time NTCC board member and was very influential in starting the Eagles baseball program. Pat and David Sistrunk of Tyler recently gave $2,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The gift will sponsor two students in the college?s new Work Scholarship Program. The program allows students the opportunity to volunteer to work at NTCC doing meaningful work (preferably in a field related to their major) and earning credit (in the form of a scholarship) towards their future college expenses. NTCC Softball to host skills camp
The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Softball staff will host a three-day skills camp June 16-18 at Eagle Field on the NTCC campus. The camp is open to players ages 5-14. It provides a way to learn and improve on all necessary skills in a structured and scientifically proven system. Games, challenges and prizes will be included to provide a fun and positive experience for all campers. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon daily.
