NTCC accepting applications for Evening Police Academy

The Northeast Police Academy at Northeast Texas Community College is now accepting applications for its next evening†police academy, which begins on†Monday, Oct. 27.


The evening academy†meets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.†The program will end in late May 2015.†This program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.

Texas A&M scholar to speak on history of Northeast Texas

Dr. Walter Buenger, former chair of the History Department at Texas A&M University College Station, and former president of the Texas State Historical Association, will speak at Omaha's historic Concord church†Friday, Oct. 24†after a dinner starting at 6:00 p.m.† Concord is ten miles east of Mount Pleasant.

Carroll Shelby Foundation gives $25,000 for scholarships

Looking for NTCC Softball alumni

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Softball program will host an Alumni Game on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Eagle Field. All NTCC Softball alumni are invited to come enjoy friendly competition and fellowship with the current team and coaching staff. NTCC to host 25th annual rodeo

† † †Rodeo fans will get to see more than 300 athletes from throughout the Southern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) compete for points and prizes next weekend as Northeast Texas Community College its 25th annual rodeo. The event will be held October 9-11 at the Mount Pleasant City Arena on Greenhill Road.

Women's soccer update

† † †The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Women?s Eagles Soccer team won two of four games this past week. The Eagles defeated Western Texas College and Paris Junior College, but fell to Jacksonville College and third ranked Tyler Junior College.


† † †Melanie Barnes kicked off the game against Paris on Saturday with a goal seven minutes in, assisted by Imelda Pina.

Pleasant Sams club gives scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sam Club of America. This year?s gift will benefit a student studying nursing at NTCC.
