NTCC Agriculture to offer Annie's Project courses

Getting a grip on today?s agriculture technology and becoming an effective farm business partner is†the focus of Annie?s Project. Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture is joining this exciting initiative with a series of courses beginning in January. †Annie?s Project is based on the experiences of a farm wife who spent her†lifetime learning how to be an involved business partner with her farm husband. Together they did†great things, but it wasn?t easy.

Kayleah Cumpian named to Great Plains Honors Council

Northeast Texas Community College Presidential Scholar, Kayleah Cumpian, of Mount Pleasant, narrowly edged out a junior from John Brown University to become the 2015 Student Representative of the Great Plains Honors Council (GBHC). She succeeds another former NTCC Presidential Scholar, Matthew Jordan, now a member of Texas Tech Honors.† This is the first time in the recorded 40-year history of the GPHC that the foremost student position of the association passed from one student to another of the same community college.

Honors Northeast presents film to Twentieth Century Club

Honors Northeast recently presented their original film on the life of Wright Patman to members of the Twentieth Century Club in Pittsburg. Several of the women present could recall interactions with the long-term Northeast Texas Congressman (1929-1976) who was the film?s subject.††Cassia Rose, of Winnsboro, also presented the trailer for the group?s upcoming film on Harriet Potter Ames, in which she stars as the Texas Lake Country heroine.

Guaranty Bank and Trust sponsors Asleep at the Wheel

Guaranty Bank and Trust recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of Asleep at the Wheel at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. Theatre Northeast to present children's play

Theatre Northeast is set to present the ?Hilarious Fractured Fairy Tale,"†Once Upon A Wolf†by Steph DeFerie at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. The show will be performed Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Dec. 7. This marks the 24th year that Theatre Northeast has presented an annual Christmas season children?s play.

Winner announced in early voting drawing

Ricky Ortiz (right)†recently won an HP laptop in a drawing sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa. The contest†was open to all students who voted early in the Nov. 4 election. Ortiz was presented the laptop on Nov. 4 at the NTCC Election Watch Party, held in the Whatley Center foyer. He is pictured with Dr. Melissa Weinbrenner, Phi Theta Kappa Advisor, and member Christopher Hamilton.†The drawing was one of several†projects PTK hosted this semester to encourage students to vote.†

NTCC Webb Society releases film trailer
