Get ready for a night of fantastic music as GENTRI (short for “The Gentlemen Trio”) comes to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College on Monday, Oct. 23rd. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students. The performance is sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank.
The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team headed to the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo hosted by Panola College September 22-23, and the Men’s Team returned to campus as Champions of the Rodeo. The Men’s team was led by Coy Evans (Fort Supply, Ok) who finished 1st in Tie Down Roping, 8th in Team Roping, and second place in the All-Around Cowboy standings.
The NTCC Culinary Arts Program recently hosted the Eagles Softball team at the culinary arts school in downtown Pittsburg for a team-building event. Chef Anthony Nelson, Director of the Culinary Arts Program, shared information about nutrition and how it can affect the performance of athletes. Team members also worked together to prepare a healthy meal of smoothies and omelets.
NTCC opened its doors in 1985 with higher-than-expected enrollments, and by 1987 had gained an earlier-than-expected accreditation. With new programs, buildings, and a relatively young, highly qualified faculty NTCC, enjoyed a halcyon period of growth. That was, until the years 1994-1995, when some administrative turmoil left the young college in search of new leadership.
The NTCC Physical Therapist Assistant program hosted the Texas Physical Therapy Association East Texas District (ETD) meeting and continuing education on Thursday, Sept. 21. Current PTA students participated in the ETD business meeting. They also learned about opportunities for engagement in their professional organization through a continuing education presentation

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will kick off its 2023-2024 performance season with a special event concert by country music legend Marty Stuart on Thursday, Oct. 5th at 7:30 p.m. Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives band will take the stage to perform your favorite classics as well as music from his latest album that was released earlier this year.
The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is pleased to announce its new Coffee and Beverage Technician Academy. NTCC is partnering with Farmer Brothers and Revive Service & Restoration to create a one-of-a-kind experience that prepares students for a rewarding career in the coffee and beverage industry.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $25,000 grant from the Ed Rachal Foundation. Thanks to an additional matching grant opportunity, the funds will be doubled for a $50,000 impact. The grant will be utilized to expand the reach of the Work4College Program.
