Student art exhibit on display through April 29th

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Thursday, April 3rd through Tuesday, April 29th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media.  A reception will be held Wednesday, April 9th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit.

Biology students travel to Arkansas for field research

Three NTCC Biology 2389 students, Gracie Gray, Isabel Tresidder, and Stephanie Hernandez, and Dr. Chris T. McAllister, Biology, traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS), Big Fork, Arkansas, March 21-23, 2025, to continue their research on fish parasites from the Ouachita River watershed.  What they believe to be a new species of myxosporean was discovered on the gills of a northern hogsucker fish, and another on the fin of a green sunfish.

Work4College to receive $48,000 matching grant from Texas Pioneer Foundation

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently learned that it will receive a matching grant for up to $48,000 from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. The money will be designated to provide matching funds for gifts to the Work4College program during East Texas Giving Day. Alpha Mu Chi wins a record-breaking 37 awards at the PTK Texas Regional Convention

Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa set a new chapter record at the recent Texas Regional Convention held in Houston, coming away with 37 awards. “With a strong officer team and an amazing set of co-advisors this year, I knew that we would do well,“ said lead advisor Dr. Melissa Fulgham. “However, they exceeded even my high hopes and expectations and set a new chapter record.

Foundation scholarship application deadline extended

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Foundation has extended the deadline for its scholarship applications, giving students additional time to apply. Students now have until March 31, 2025, to submit their applications for financial assistance in the upcoming fall semester.

To apply, visit www.ntcc.edu/scholarships and log in using your NTCC email and password. Be sure to complete the “Application,” which will automatically match you to scholarships you qualify for.
