The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation held its 2022 Scholarship Brunch on Friday, Nov. 19th in the Student Union Building. This was the first time since the beginning of the pandemic that NTCC was able to host the annual event.
Last week Dr. Paula Wilhite, Northeast Texas Community College Professor of Mathematics/Division Chair for Math, Physics and Engineering, presented “The Beauty of Mathematics in Beethoven’s Compositions” at the annual conference of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) in Toronto, Canada.
The Northeast Texas Community College Eagle newspaper staff brought home 22 awards in several print, video and photography categories at the Texas Community College Journalism Association, TCCJA, this past weekend.

Sometimes the most impactful learning experiences happen far from the classroom. Students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at Northeast Texas Community College recently learned this as they had the opportunity to attend the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Six Shelby students and three instructors spent the first week of November at the world’s largest automotive aftermarket show. In addition to exploring the exhibits, the group also attended the Shelby American reception at the Shelby Heritage Center.

The Northeast Texas Community College Theatre Department will present Almost, Maine on the stage of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts December 1st-3rd. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. nightly and there will also be a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Dec. 3rd.
The Northeast Texas Community College Nursing Program will begin accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year on Friday, Nov. 18th. Applications for the Associate Traditional Nursing (RN), Vocational Nursing (VN) and VN/Paramedic Transition to RN programs all open at the same time.
The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo Team headed South November 10th-12th for the Sam Houston State University Rodeo. This was the fifth and final Rodeo of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Fall season.
