Students who have registered for spring classes are now able to view their account balances in the myEagle Portal. Everyone is encouraged to pay their balance or set up a payment plan as soon as possible. The deadline for payment is January 8th.
What started as an out-of-the-box idea by NTCC Navigator, JaQuacy Minter, ended with the NTCC Student Services building being transformed into a festive "Registration Express" train station, blending the magic of The Polar Express with the importance of spring registration. Throughout December, the Student Services team treated students to free hot chocolate, coffee and popcorn, creating a warm and inviting space while they registered for classes.
Thursday, November 30th, second year MLT students braved the rain to tour the laboratory at Titus Regional Medical Center. They were able to see first hand how the skills they’ve been learning throughout their time at NTCC will be used. Titus Regional has two Sysmex hematology analyzers for fast and accurate complete blood counts.
For over ten years in the “BioTex” seminar at NTCC, honors students have experienced a November “email shootout.” This is something like a cross between an ongoing basketball game with scores changing in real time, and a fast-paced, scholarly-poetic thinkathon. The course challenges students to conceptualize the elements of their Texas history research essays, to utilize crossover “analogs, (terms)” particularly from biology and other scientific fields, and to provide terse definitions of newly minted concepts.
The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Softball team recently announced it's schedule for the spring 2024 season. Led by head coach, Haley Colwell, the Eagles will kick off their schedule with a doubleheader against East Texas Baptist University in Marshall on January 27th.
One Christmas Night in Memphis, the exciting holiday version of the official and number one tribute to Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash will be appearing live at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Second-year Medical Lab Technology (MLT) students took a field trip to LifeShare in Shreveport, LA this week. The students were able to learn about the blood donation process from donor requirements to collection. After donating blood, students toured components and hospital services.

Maiko Estrada (pictured left) and Jessie Parchman (pictured right) have become the 27th, and 28th scholars of Honors Northeast to have published work in a regional journal since 2010. This past week, the forty-first volume of the journal, Touchstone, published by the Texas State Historical Association, was released.
