On Wednesday, Northeast Texas Community College announced it will extend spring break by one week for students due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. While college operations will resume in a limited capacity on Monday, March 23, the campus will remain closed to the public. Plans are in the works to move most courses online for the remainder of the semester.

Out of an abundance of caution regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, NTCC has made the decision to postpone the upcoming "Tapestry, The Carole King Songbook with Suzanne O Davis" concert that was scheduled for Friday, March 27 in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. We will release the new date as soon as possible.

Jacob Lambie, sophomore Presidential Scholar at Northeast Texas Community College, has recently been named 2020 Coca-Cola Academic Gold Scholar and Guistwhite Scholar.  

The Student Government Association will be hosting the Spring Jamfest Talent Show on Thursday, April 2, 2020. The Spring Jamfest is open to college students and the general public. Come out to NTCC for the 2020 Spring Jamfest to show your support, join the fun, or just for the excitement! 

Springfest Week is a great opportunity for students to confirm and celebrate their decision to attend Northeast Texas Community College. The week also provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy conversations that will lead to relationship building outside of the classroom. Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Mu Chi, recently attended the Texas Regional Convention in Abilene and returned with 20 awards. The chapter successfully campaigned for the Texas Region District III President position. This is an unprecedented feat for the chapter and college that will allow an elected representative to take part in leadership training, public speaking opportunities, and travel throughout the state.

Members of the Northeast Texas Community College Business Club recently presented a check for $500 to the NTCC Foundation. The donation will provide a business student with a scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year. This is the second year the Business Club has given a scholarship.

Northeast Texas Community College will host a suicide prevention training and awareness walk on Saturday, April 18 on the NTCC campus. The day will begin with a professional development training at 5 p.m. and a 5k awareness walk will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed March 16-20 for spring break. Online registration continues in the myEagle Portal for 2nd 8-week classes, which are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23.
