With three rodeos left in season, NTCC in good position for CNFR

The NTCC men finished second overall at Texas A&M University-Kingsville rodeo and the women finished sixth. Zack Bocco took first place in the men's All-Around after earning second in both Steer Wrestling and Team Roping Heeler. Wacey Hathcock won first in the Saddle Bronc event and Kyler Bramhall took second in Team Roping Header. Dustin Jackson also placed third in Bareback Riding. In women's action, Sadie Johnson finished in third place in the Goat Tying.

Eagles baseball fights for playoff spot

With just over a month left to play in the season the Eagles currently find themselves sitting in fourth place in the NJCAA Region XIV Eastern Zone. With an overall record of 11-18 and a conference mark of 5-9, the Eagles trail Paris Junior College (6-4), Panola (9-3) and Navarro (10-2) in the race to make the Regional Tournament.

?It has been a bit of a rough season for us so far, but we are not out of the playoff picture yet,? Eagles Head Coach Josh Stewart said.

Donovan Dowling named head soccer coach

Donovan Dowling has been named the new head coach of both the men?s and women?s soccer programs at Northeast Texas Community College. Dowling comes to the program after spending the past two years at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.

In his two years at Fort Hays State University, an NCAA Division II member, Dowling was the top assistant for the men?s program which he helped build from the ground up, with the program?s inception beginning in the fall of 2011. In their first year ever as a program (2011), FHSU finished 11-5-2, while receiving votes for the NCAA Top 25 poll.

Eagles Softball wins 4 of 5 at Cowtown Tourney

The Lady Eagles won four of five games over the weekend as they were in action in the Cowtown Tournament in Fort Worth. NTCC improved to 5-4 this season as the Eagles picked up wins over Rose State, Eastern Oklahoma, Connors State and Western Oklahoma.
?Things finally started clicking for our offense and we were able to put the ball in play,? Eagle head coach Jessica Keith said.

Eagles Baseball sweeps Pratt in series

The Eagles pushed their record to 5-1 this weekend as they swept a three-game series from visiting Pratt Community College. After a disappointing offensive performance last weekend, the Eagle hitters came to life against Pratt as NTCC produced 28 hits and 24 runs in three games this week.
?We were finally hitting the ball the way we should be,? Eagle head coach Josh Stewart said. ?I just hope we can keep hitting like that as the season goes on.?
