Psi Beta inducts new members

Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted 11 new members into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges.

Student guide to NTCC Emergency Alerts

Northeast Texas Community College offers an Emergency Alert Notification System that keeps NTCC students, faculty, and staff informed in case of emergency situations. These alerts are used for urgent information ONLY (including safety drills, campus closures, weather notifications, or other potentially hazardous situations).†It was recently brought to our attention that some students do not receive alerts on their desired phone number or e-mail address.

Theatre Northeast presents Butterflies Are Free

Butterflies Are Free, by Leonard Gershe, opens February 27 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the Northeast Texas Community College campus. In this Tony Award-winning comedy, a young blind man and the free-spirited girl-next-door discover the values of self-reliance and dependence.

The play, performed by Theatre Northeast, centers on Don Baker, a Greenwich Village newcomer who struggles to create an independent life for himself apart from his family in Scarsdale.

February 11 weather closure

All Northeast Texas Community College locations will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 due to winter weather. Food services WILL †be available to students who live on campus. The Mt. Pleasant Daily Tribune political forum that was scheduled for tonight is also cancelled.

NTCC will continue to monitor the weather and will announce any further closures by 6 a.m. tomorrow if necessary.

The NTCC Eagles baseball and softball games scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed.

Eagles Softball drops two to LSU Eunice

† † † †The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Eagles softball team took a†double loss against the Louisiana State University Eunice Bengals during†Saturday's home games.†The loss is the first for the Eagles this season after having won both of†their season opening games last week.

† † † †The Bengals took a commanding lead early in the first game, scoring four†unanswered runs before the end of the second inning.†Brianna Williams scored the first run of the day for the Eagles, but is†was not enough as the Bengals scored another three runs to win the first†game 7-1.

Eagles Baseball picks up three wins against Pratt

† † † †The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Eagles baseball team secured†their first win of the season on Saturday against the Pratt Community†College Beavers. The Eagles and the Beavers squared off for two†doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday and the Eagles won three of the four†games played this weekend.


† † † †NTCC took an early lead in the second inning of the first game and went on†to pick up a shutout, 3-0, win over the Beavers.

NTCC holds reception for Bill Priefert

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated the service of Bill Priefert, a long-time member of the NTCC board of Trustees, with a retirement reception on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Priefert, of Mount Pleasant, recently retired from the board after 11 years of service.
