Ag Club to host Tractor Tech Invitational

The NTCC Ag Club will host the first ever Conroy Tractor “Tractor Tech Invitational” Contest on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the NTCC Ag complex and farm. The event will give area FFA and 4-H students a chance to test their tractor knowledge and skills. Participants will take a written test, diagnose a break down on a tractor and drive a tractor. Judges will evaluate and score the students on their knowledge and competency.

Annual quilt exhibit comes to Whatley foyer

Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the NTCC art department.  For the sixth year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Friday, Nov. 11th through Wednesday, Nov. 20th.  A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.

Psi Beta inducts new members

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, 11 NTCC students were inducted into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community colleges. The candlelight Induction was presided over by chapter officers Jian Torres, Didier Serrano, and Nataly Morales. The speaker for the evening, Amanda Stevens, a doctoral candidate in the Educational Psychology program at Texas A&M University-Commerce, presented her original research on metacognition.

Archaeologist to present lecture on findings from the Reigns of Kings David and Solomon

John Harmon, a doctoral candidate at Lipscomb University, will be presenting recent research relative to the reigns of Israel’s greatest Old Testament kings. The lecture will occur in Humanities 101 from 12:25 to 1:20 PM on Thursday, 10 November. The lecture is sponsored by Honors Northeast. Those who plan to attend in advance are welcome to notify Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu for a free lunch.
