NTCC talent show goes virtual
Just because the spring talent show was cancelled due to COVID-19 doesn't mean you can't still show off your skills and even win some $$$! NTCC is moving its annual talent show online. See flyer for full details. Don't forget to upload your video to Facebook and use #NTCCVTS, tag Rico Willis and tag three friends you want to challenge to enter!

WiFi hotspots available in NTCC parking lot
We realize going to an all online format for classes can be a struggle for some of you. Especially if you do not have good internet access.
If you are struggling with internet issues maybe we can help. NTCC has set up WIFI hotspots in the campus parking lot. You are welcome to come to the campus and sit in your cars in the parking lot and use the WIFI anytime throughout the week (until 10pm). See above for areas where you will get the best WiFi connection (yellow highlighted area behind SUB and yellow highlighted area in West Housing parking lot).
Jim and Paula Archer support NTCC for East Texas Giving Day
Doctors Jim and Paula Archer (right) recently presented Nita May (left), Northeast Texas Community College Director of Development, with a check for $2,000 for East Texas Giving Day (ETGD). The amount will be matched at 50% by the IBM employer giving program to bring their total contribution to $3,000. Additional matching opportunities through ETGD and grants will bring the total impact of the donation to $6,000. The Archer’s gift will support NTCC Honors, the Jim and Paula Archer Science Scholarship and the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

Bonnie Spencer essay contest announced

Expertise has its own rewards, and in the case of history essays at Northeast Texas Community College, the reward might be something greater than an ‘A’. For the fifth year in a row, history at NTCC will feature the Bonnie Spencer Awards for the best three research papers in non-honors classes. This year, the awards will be doubled to $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and to $25 for third place.
Mandy Smith wins TIPA Adviser of the Year Award

Northeast Texas Community College associate professor Mandy Smith was recently named the 2019 Charles “Chuck” Choate Memorial Adviser of the Year by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA). This is the top state award for college and university journalism advisers and is designated for those who “go the extra mile in teaching and advising.”
