Out of an abundance of caution, Northeast Texas Community College has cancelled Scare Affair 2020. The college’s annual Halloween carnival is a popular family event that is usually held in late October. However, due to COVID-19 concerns, the difficult decision was made to cancel this year’s event.

Northeast Texas Community College will host its annual National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) rodeo October 16-17 at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Arena.

Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce our new soccer coaching staff for the 2020-2021 year. New Men’s and Women’s Head Soccer Coach Zane Barnes will be joined by assistants Heather Brady and JD Perales to lead the Eagle Soccer program into the future.

The Northeast Texas Community College Honors Program is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2020-2021 school year. This includes nine Presidential Scholars and 11 Honors Scholars.

The thirteenth annual Northeast Texas Poetry Reading occurred in an NTCC-sponsored Zoom Room, 4 September 2020.  The student and adult, upper-division winners were also announced.

Carter BloodCare will be on campus Tuesday, September 8, 2020 conducting a blood drive. Please help save a life by donating blood!

The blood drive bus will be located in the parking lot at the edge of the sidewalk by the Student Union Building from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Athletic Training Department has added two new student athletic trainers to the program. Newcomers Marissa Nolan (Gilmer High School) and Alexis Quezada (Mount Pleasant High School) will join sophomore Erica Austin (Texarkana Pleasant Grove High School) and Head Athletic Trainer Justin Hargrove in caring for the Eagle Athletes this year.

Presidential Scholar, Katelyn (Cox) Lester, has won the third $500 Dr. Jerry Wesson Scholarship, for academic excellence in honors.  This honor was established in 2018 by Scott Wesson, a Colorado businessman, on behalf of his father-- long-term NTCC Vice President, and booster, Dr. Jerry Wesson.
