The NTCC Continuing Education department will host a Computers for Senior Adults class April 6-27. It will be held Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. on the NTCC main campus.
Stressed about the future of your personal finances? You won’t want to miss the Mad City Reality Fair Simulation event scheduled for March 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building. NTCC Student Services and Financial Literacy will host this (free) exciting, interactive exercise to help students learn more about managing their personal finances. Free pizza will be served and gift card prizes will be given away!
The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Agriculture Departments have teamed up to offer another great class for the community. A Spring Pruning and Replanting Workshop will be held on Thursday, April 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the NTCC Ag Complex (across FM 1735 from the main campus).
Northeast Texas Community College Softball made the trip to Louisiana to take on NJCAA number 15 ranked Bossier Parish Community College on Saturday. BPCC would take down NTCC 10-2 in game one and narrowly escaped with a 4-3 win in game two of the series.
Northeast Texas Community College hosted Bossier Parish Community College in a single nine inning conference game on Thursday. BPCC took an early lead and NTCC was not able to overcome the early deficit despite a valiant comeback attempt. Bossier Parish won the close contest 10-9 to take an early series lead.
Northeast Texas Community College Softball traveled to Paris Junior College on Wednesday to open the 2021 Conference season. Paris would get the upper hand defeating NTCC 6-1 in game one and made a comeback effort to take down the Eagles 15-14 in game two.
Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Mu Chi, attended the Texas Regional Convention virtually this past weekend and returned with several awards. In addition, the chapter successfully campaigned for the Texas Region District III Vice President position. The elected representative, Cade Bennett, will take part in leadership training, public speaking opportunities, and travel throughout the state.
Daisy Bates, Admissions application Coordinator of Transfer Student Programs at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, will be assisting students in the Career and transfer center (BT 111B) on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. she help with applications, take transcripts and waive the $30 application fee. The event is hosted by the NTCC Career and Transfer Center.
Northeast Texas Community College will be closed March 15-19 for Spring Break. While offices will be closed, there is still time to sign up for 2nd 8-week spring classes online at www.ntcc.edu/registernow. Classes for that session begin Monday, March 22.
During Feb 10-17, 2021, two major storms had a widespread impact across the US and especially in the state of Texas. Governor Greg Abbot declared a state of emergency for all of Texas’ 254 counties in response to the severe winter weather impacting Texas. Mass power outages, frozen and broken water lines, water and food shortages, and persistent sub-freezing weather conditions combined to create a crisis that was unprecedented in its scope and severity.
