Jenna Lukehart honored for College Algebra, Statistics

Every semester full-time and associate faculty in NTCC’s Division of Math, Physics and Engineering can select an outstanding student, who is exceptional in some way. For the Spring 2023 semester, Dr. Doug Richey nominated Jenna Renae Lukehart from Mount Pleasant as outstanding in College Algebra (Fall 2022) and Statistics (Spring 2023).

Raw Milk Production Seminar planned for September 23rd

Northeast Texas Community College, in partnership with the Raw Milk Institute, will host a one-day intensive seminar on September 23rd that will cover a variety of topics relevant to the production of low-risk raw milk. Anyone interested in learning more about raw milk can benefit from this hands-on training!

Winners of annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest announced

On 5 May, for the fifteenth time, community judges and NTCC students converged on the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at NTCC for an annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest.  The scholarly competition was enabled again by generous grants, from Beverly Kelley of Mount Vernon, and the McGraw-Hill Education Corporation—through the special work of Bill Welsh, and Casey Slaght who work in the corporate office in Dubuque, Iowa.  

Sigma Kappa Delta inducts new members

The Northeast Texas Community College chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta recently inducted new members at an afternoon ceremony on campus. Sigma Kappa Delta is an English honor society with more than 400 chapters across the country. In order to qualify for an invitation for Sigma Kappa Delta, students must maintain a high GPA and achieve excellent grades in their English courses. The NTCC chapter was recently revived after a several year hiatus under the leadership of Jennifer Sparks, Interim English Faculty.

Every semester full-time and associate faculty at NTCC can select students, who are exceptional in some way, to be honored for their efforts. For the Spring 2023 semester, Interim English Faculty Jennifer Sparks nominated (from left) Kimberly Vaughan, Mary Faith Wilson, Klarissa Vaughn, Owen Nichelson and Carson Lorch.

Sparks said that each of these students worked very hard and went the extra mile in her classes.
