Filing for Place One, Place Two, Place Three, Place Five and Place Six on the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees will begin on†Wednesday, January 29, 2014, and continues through†5 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014.†Filing applications are available from elections clerk Cindy Foster in the NTCC administration building from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. NTCC will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, January 21. Members of the Northeast Texas Community College Alpha Mu Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa spent time spreading good cheer over the holiday break. A group of members went Christmas Caroling door-to-door on December 23. NTCC Professor Dr. Paula Wilhite was among the Mount Pleasant residents who received a surprise serenade. She commented in a recent Facebook post: "The best of the best! Thanks for the wonderful music..."

This was one of many community service projects that Alpha Mu Chi conducts throughout the year.

At a special called meeting Thursday, the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees appointed Robin Sharp to fill the unexpired term of the place six board seat recently vacated by Bill Priefert. Sharp will be sworn in at the next regular board meeting in January.

Sharp is Executive Vice President at Guaranty Bond Bank. He has 29 years experience in banking. Sharp earned his bachelorπs degree from Texas Tech University, attended the American British College in Barcelona, Spain, and continued his education at Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.
