The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts will begin selling tickets for individual shows online Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 12 a.m. Tickets will be available for purchase at www.whatleycenter.com and Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. Tickets may also be ordered directly from the box office via phone at 903-434-8181 beginning at 9 a.m.

Dr. Melissa Fulgham served as a keynote speaker at the Texas Honors Institute, held at Schreiner?s University in Kerrville Texas.

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees held a special meeting Thursday to accept the resignation of Dr. Brad Johnson. Johnson asked the board to release him from his contract so he can accept a new position as Vice President for Strategic Relationships at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

Dr. Johnson explained that the change will provide both personal and professional opportunities.

Northeast Texas Community College students Brenda Godoy and Rachel Jordan received recognition as Texas STAR Scholars at the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Regional Honors Institute held at Schreiner?s University July 21-23. They were two of eleven recipients from throughout the state of Texas.† Both serve as Vice-Presidents of Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC?s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Both are Presidential Scholars in Honors Northeast.

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College is accepting new†and returning†students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs.
