Honors presents panel at East Texas Historical Association

Save the date for the next Culinary Arts Dinner!

The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on Nov. 15th.  The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Oct. 29th. Due to high demand at previous events, the Culinary Arts Program has moved to a ticketed event rather than first-come-first-served. Tickets can be obtained only at the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg, cash and checks are accepted for payment.

Theatre Northeast to present The Night Is My Enemy Oct. 25-28

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group at Northeast Texas Community College, will present their first play of the school year Oct. 25-28 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Just in time for Halloween, they will perform The Night Is My Enemy, a play of suspense and murder by Fred Carmichael. Suspense and terror are interwoven with humor to provide a thrilling evening. The play takes place in a large house on the British coast and revolves around Roane Shepperley, a blind girl.

Farm Fashioned Recipe: Chicken Andouille Sausage Gumbo

Submitted by René McCracken, NTCC Director of Agriculture Culture, tradition, family and experiences are the heart and soul of every good cook’s recipe arsenal. In my case, I also add in the agriculture element of growing the ingredients for my Farm Fashioned Recipes.  Although we are in east Texas there are several connections and a short drive into Louisiana that have me including a little creole in my list of dishes.

Honors Northeast presents film trailer in Nacogdoches

Submitted by Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director Six NTCC honors freshman recently presented the trailer of their new film on Barbara Conrad at the annual fall meeting of the Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society. The Webb Society is the collegiate auxiliary of the Texas State Historical Association. Jacob Lambie, Peyton McClendon, Verania Leyva, Miguel Paco, Daniel Landaverde, Mercedes Collins all have taken major roles in the production of the film, due for a premiere this February. All took turns presenting key aspects of the film’s development.
