pure hope group presents big check

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift for $32,714 from Pure Hope Foundation (PHF) in Mount Vernon. Pictured at the check presentation (from left) is: Holly Morris, PHF Events Director, Ryan Morris, PHF COO/Executive Director, Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC Senior Vice President for Student Success, Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, Michael Lee, PHF Co-Founder and Kathrine Lee, PHF Co-Founder/CEO. The donation established the Pure Hope Foundation General Scholarship, which will provide assistance for PHF students well into the future.

Makenzie Mayes

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team made the short trip to Sulphur Springs, Texas for the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo hosted by Texas A&M University-Commerce February 3-4. The Eagles had a great representation in the finals Saturday night, with the Women’s Team placing third and Makenzie Mayes (Scroggins, TX) coming away with the Women’s All-Around Champion Award.

The Northeast Texas Community College Baseball team finally got on the field after a few weather-related cancellations on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Mena, Arkansas to take on Arkansas Rich Mountain Community College. The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees held its regular January meeting later than usual on Tuesday, Feb. 7th. The meeting was delayed due to scheduling conflicts. All seven board members were present. Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President, announced that spring enrollment is tracking flat after the census date. Numbers are very similar to last spring, with about a .5% decrease in head count and 2.1% increase in contact hours.
