Nursing students participate in TRMC heart health fair

NTCC Nursing students, including LVN and RN levels 2 and 4, shared fellowship with the Titus Regional Medical Center staff through educating the community about heart health issues. They were led by Tim Elmore and Beverly Price. TRMC hosted its annual React Quicker, Save Your Ticker heart health fair on Saturday, February 17, offering free and low-cost testing, education at community-led booths, and guests received free health screenings and hands only CPR training.

Dr. Matthew Lampert serves as panelist at APA meeting

Dr. Matthew Lampert, NTCC Professor of Philosophy, recently participated in The Teaching Hub at the 2024 Central Division Meeting of the American Philosophical Association in New Orleans. Lampert was invited to serve as a panelist in a discussions session called “Teaching Philosophy at Community Colleges.” He is pictured with other panelists in the session (from left): Guy Crain, Rose State College, Jason Flato, Georgia State University – Perimeter College, Lampert, and Rebeka Ferreira, Green River College.

NTCC wins national Bellwether Award

Northeast Texas Community College is excited to announce that it has won a 2024 national Bellwether Award for its innovative Work4College program. NTCC received the Best In Showcase Award at the 2024 Community College Futures Assembly in San Antonio this week in the category of Planning, Governance and Finance.  The Bellwether competition is the most prestigious competition for community colleges and recognizes cutting-edge, trendsetting programs worthy of replication among the more than 1,000 community colleges across the nation.

Psi Beta students spread joy at local assisted living

Members of NTCC'S chapter of the Psi Beta Honor Society created Valentine’s Day cards during social meetings earlier this semester. Neida Perez, Luke McGraw, Jonah McGraw, Aubrey Watkins, and Skylar Hodson (pictured) visited The Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, February 14th to deliver the Valentine’s Day cards to residents. The staff and residents were excited to meet the students and greatly appreciated the cards.

Dr. Ron Clinton benefit piano concert planned for March 3rd

     The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce that it will host a benefit piano concert by NTCC President Dr. Ron Clinton and violinist, Andre Daniel on Sunday, March 3rd at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the NTCC Foundation.
