Priefert team wins NTCC Golf Classic

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently held its annual golf tournament at the Mount Pleasant Country Club. This was the 25th†consecutive year of the tournament. Gold sponsors for the event were AEP-Swepco, American National Bank, Capps Insurance, Guaranty Bond Bank, Luminant, Northeast Texas Credit Union and Scrubbies Wash USA. Silver sponsors were EDH Electric, Texas Heritage National Bank, Big Tex, Elliott Motors and Redfearn Real Estate.

Jon and Patti Cohen give $30,000 endowed scholarship

Northeast Texas Community College recently received a $30,000 planned gift from Jon and Patti Cohen. This donation established an endowed memorial scholarship that will provide three $500 scholarships per year to benefit cosmetology students at NTCC. The scholarship is given in memory of Johnnie Cohen, who was a long-time cosmetology instructor at NTCC. Tennison United Methodist Women give scholarship

The Tennison Memorial United Methodist Women recently gave a $500 scholarship to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The group contributes a scholarship annually to help a deserving NTCC student offset college expenses. Pleasant Sams give $500 NTCC scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sams Club of America. This year's gift will benefit a student studying in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology program at NTCC. Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery give $5,000 for Whatley Campaign



Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery of Mount Vernon recently pledged $5,000 to benefit the Northeast Texas Community College Campaign for the Whatley. Their gift will be used to help make much-needed renovations to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

Student proves that it is never to late to learn

Like many young people, Curtis Ivory dropped out of Pittsburg High School in 1996 with the best of intentions. His girlfriend (now wife) was pregnant with their first child and it was up to him to get a job to support his growing family.

Campaign for the Whatley receives $50,000

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $50,000 check from the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. This gift will contribute to The Campaign for the Whatley. NTCC receives $202,785 to update medical technology

Northeast Texas Community College recently received a JET (Job and Education for Texans) 5 grant from the Texas State Comptroller's Office for $202,785. These funds will††will allow NTCC to purchase software for its†health programs, computers for each of its 12 dental hygiene operatories, new digital x-ray equipment, electronic dental record software, intraoral cameras and a panoramic digital x-ray system†. ETCF gives $12,000 for Spring 2012 scholarships
