NTCC plans trip to Dallas Arboretum festival

Are you looking to kick off those winter blues and start looking ahead to spring? The Northeast Texas Community College Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg is planning a trip to the Dallas Arboretum's Dallas Blooms festival March 17.

A chartered bus will depart from the Center in Pittsburg on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:45 a.m.††For those living in Titus and/or Morris Counties, the bus will arrive at Lowe?s in Mount Pleasant for pickup and will depart at 8:00 a.m.

NTCC open Saturday for registration


Northeast Texas Community College will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 10 to assist students with registration for the Spring 2015 semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.





The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.

Northeast Honors attends NCHC in Denver

Five Scholars of Honors Northeast, in addition to Honors Professors Dr. Mary Hearron, and Dr. Andrew Yox represented NTCC at the 2014 meeting of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), November 6-9.† NTCC is the only community college in the nation to have featured scholarly student presenters continuously since 2008, and the only program in the nation, university or otherwise, to have featured two of its honors films in the last two years.

It is no secret that Northeast Texas is quickly becoming a premier destination for retirees and others from big cities looking for a slower pace of life. The lower cost of living and abundant land has resulted in a record number of folks purchasing small acreage farms in the area.
