Michael Martin Murphey's Cowboy Christmas comes to Whatley Center
Michael Martin Murphey will perform his beloved Cowboy Christmas show at The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College on Monday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Seats can be purchased online at www.whatleycenter.com or by calling the box office at 903-434-8181. The show, sponsored by Cypress Bank, is included in season ticket packages.
NTCC closed Nov. 24-26
Northeast Texas Community College will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 24-26 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Offices will be open regular business hours on Monday and Tuesday, so that is a great time to stop by to register for classes.
Regular hours and classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 29.
Spring 2022 registration opens
Registration is currently underway for December Intersession and Spring 2022. Students are encouraged to register early to get their desired time/format for the courses they need. Visit www.ntcc.edu/schedules to see what is being offered!
Most students are eligible to register online at their convenience through the myEagle portal. Stop by Student Services or e-mail advising@ntcc.edu if you have questions or need assistance picking your schedule.
NTCC represented at Gilmer career/college fair
NTCC was well-represented at a career and college fair held in Gilmer this week. More than 500 seniors from all Upshur County high schools attended. NTCC had booths from Continuing Education, Professional Driving Academy, Work4College, Medical Assistant, Shelby Automotive, Health Sciences and Student Services/Recruiting.
"This was a phenomenal recruiting opportunity for the college and we appreciate everyone who took the time set up and showcase all of the great programs NTCC has to offer," Kim Irvin, Dean of Enrollment Management, said.

The Northeast Texas Community College Fire Academy is now recruiting for its 20th Academy. Since 2002, the program has trained numerous individuals in fire service.
“It is hard to believe that we have been meeting our region’s need for trained firefighters for 20 years. This program is an asset to our community and is a great opportunity for those interested in fire service,” Lisa York, NTCC Continuing Education Coordinator, said.
Mark your calendar for "A 1940's Christmas Carol"
The NTCC Theatre Program is excited to announce our upcoming production of A 1940s Christmas Carol. This play will be at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on December 2, 3, and 4th. Evening shows are at 7:30 and there is also a matinee on December 4th at 2:30 pm. The play is about an hour long, family friendly, and a wonderful way to usher in the holiday season.

Israel Perez first to receive Russell-Mowery Honors Scholarship

Israel Perez, a Presidential-Scholar sophomore of Honors Northeast, has become the first winner of the Russell-Mowery Perpetual Honors Scholarship. This annual $500 award goes to an honors student who has made significant contributions to Northeast Texas culture and life.
