APPLY FOR THE Faculty Senate Scholarship!

This scholarship is available to students full or part-time. All Application materials Must be returned to Julie Ratliff in Humanities 114 or Delbra Anthony in Humanities 118

Student art on display through April 27th

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Friday, April 8th through Tuesday, April 27th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature over 100 student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media.  A reception will be held Wednesday, April 13th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit.

Jordan Chapin to represent Alpha Mu Chi as Texas Region President

Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, successfully campaigned for the Texas Region President position at the regional convention earlier this month.  Texas Regional Officers have an amazing opportunity to develop leadership skills as they work with the Regional leadership team to plan and facilitate three regional events, including the Texas Honors Institute held in July, the Texas Leadership Conference held in October, and the Texas Regional Convention held in March.

Theatre plans spring production for April

Save the date! The NTCC Theatre department is pleased to invite everyone to the upcoming Spring production. It’s an evening of short plays and will be held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Performance dates are April 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 pm with an additional matinee on Saturday, April 23 at 2:30 pm.

The performance in total will be about an hour and is for audiences of all ages (over 6 years old, please).

Israel Perez published in "Texas Handbook"

Sophomore Israel Perez has set a new first for NTCC recently, publishing in the Texas Handbook, an online resource, and the most utilized source for Texas history ever created. The articles in the Handbook must go through a professional review process, and are usually crafted by professional historians. In some cases, amateur historians and graduate students also contribute.

Students travel to Emporia State University

The last weekend of spring break, 10 Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) students traveled to Emporia, Kansas to attend the 47th Annual Art Therapy Discovery Day at Emporia State University. This event was an opportunity to attend a professional conference, meet and talk to faculty and graduate students, and form lasting friendships with other NTCC students.
