Dental Assistant School

Thank you for your interest in Dental Assistant program! This program is offered through a partnership between Northeast Texas Community College and Mount Pleasant Dental Assistant School. If you are interested in pursuing a career in dental assisting this is where your future begins. The goal is to provide you with the tools, training, and support necessary to get you on your way to a successful and rewarding career as a highly successful  and a respected team member in the dental industry. You will find our program and curriculum to be well planned and organized to achieve maximum learning in a time frame that allows you to start your career as soon as possible. Experienced and professional staff will ensure that you receive the highest quality instruction available with a strong emphasis on practical application and hands-on training in a real dental environment. You'll learn and practice what will be expected of you once you enter the dental industry by following the same rules, guidelines, and daily routines practiced in any dental environment.

  • This 13-week course consist of:
    • Saturdays from 8 am - 12 pm
    • 81 hours of lecture and lab
    • 50 hours of externship
    • Hands-on training
    • Career placement available

The program utilizes a hands-on educational approach where students learn by doing. The course includes lectures on the fundamentals of general dentistry and the basic skills, knowledge, and technical proficiency necessary to assist the dentist in the various operative procedures performed in a dental clinic. Completing the program will give the student enough training to qualify for an entry-level position in a dental office.  Northeast Texas Community College, in partnership with Mount Pleasant Dental Assistant School is dedicated to developing efficient, effective dental assistants through a competency-based program.

Financial Aid
Qualifying students may be eligible for financial aid. To qualify for financial aid, students must apply for financial aid through www.fafsa.ed.gov. The financial aid office at NTCC determines eligibility. Students interested in financial aid are encourage to apply at least one month prior to registration. If students qualify for aid, then students can then apply for a Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) and if eligible, can receive up to $1000 from the grant towards the tuition. The balance is the responsibility of the student. Payment plans are available for every situation. Contact Continuing Education for more information.
