PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Medical Coding Specialist program is designed to prepare competent coding specialists who are responsible for correctly coding healthcare claims to obtain financial reimbursement from insurance companies and government health care programs. Medical Coding Specialists work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and billing companies using specialized electronic medical software to assign procedure and diagnosis codes for billing purposes.
