Alpha Mu Chi, the Northeast Texas Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, received 20 awards at the Texas Regional Convention in Corpus Christi, March 9-11.
Awards received by the chapter include: Texas Top Chapter, Honors in Action Award of Distinction, College Project Award of Merit, Five Star Chapter, Honors in Action and College Project participation award (blank paper, award missing at time of photograph), Texas Regional Hall of Honor for Outstanding Officers (Melody Mott), Texas Regional Hall of Honor for Outstanding Members (Tim Allen), Texas Regional Hall of Honor for Outstanding Alumni (Isaac Burris), Continued Excellence Award for Advisors (Melissa Fulgham), District III Hall of Honor (Ryan-Rose Mendoza, Dylan McConnell, Melody Mott, Elizabeth Esquitan, Erick Fernandez, Tim Allen, Kassy Martinez), Five Star Competitive Edge Members (Melody Mott, Dylan McConnell) and Friend of Texas Award (Delbra Anthony).
?I'm immensely proud of the chapter and all the hard work they put in, year after year. It can never be about the awards, but it is nice to see them recognized for their efforts,? Dr. Melissa Fulgham, Alpha Mu Chi Advisor, said.
Phi Theta Kappa is a selective, international honor society that recognizes academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.
Representatives from Alpha Mu Chi will travel to Nashville, Tennessee in early April to represent NTCC at the national Phi Theta Kappa ?Catalyst? convention.
