Mary-Faith Wilson wins 7th Gladys Winkle Humanities Scholarship in Honors

The Gladys Winkle Family has empowered six NTCC honors students through the years with a special scholarship for excellence in the Humanities that comes in addition to an institutional honors scholarship.  This year’s winner is Mary-Faith Wilson, a star of the HuMusic Seminar last fall before she even entered honors, and this year, one of the top-tier Presidential Scholars of Honors Northeast.

Continuing Education honors Elizabeth Biggerstaff for her contributions to Kids Discovery College

After over a decade of dedication and service to Northeast Texas Community College, Elizabeth Biggerstaff completed her final Kids Discovery College program in July. As the Coordinator for the program, Elizabeth has been instrumental in engaging countless young minds through innovative and engaging educational experiences. Her passion for education and her commitment to the community have left a lasting impact on the children and families who have participated in the program.

Congressman Nathanial Moran visits NTCC for economic development, workforce summit

Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) hosted U.S. Representative Nathaniel Moran (pictured) on August 19th for a regional summit focused on economic development, workforce, and education. Stakeholders from Camp, Franklin, Morris, and Titus Counties attended to discuss community opportunities and challenges. Congressman Moran, joined by members of his staff, emphasized his intention to listen and learn more about the local needs to better represent the region in Washington.

NTCC celebrates August 2024 graduates

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated its Summer 2024 commencement on Friday, Aug. 16th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. A total of 54 associate degrees and 54 certificates of competency were awarded to 86 graduates. Michael Rodriguez gave the student welcome in both English and Spanish. Gracie Gray, who graduated from the Medical Laboratory Technology program, delivered the student response. Chuck Johns, Russell East, Chad Elledge and Kerry Wootten were in attendance representing the NTCC Board of Trustees

Adult Education offers free GED, ESL classes

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and English Language programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration beginning August 19, 2024.  While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

CIS of Northeast Texas holds back-to-school training

Did you know that Communities In Schools (CIS) of Northeast Texas serves students on 40 campuses in 13 school districts and nine counties? Administered by Northeast Texas Community College, CIS has 44 employees on staff that provide services to students to help overcome barriers to their success. Two graduate from Professional Driving Academy

The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Two new students recently graduated from the program.
