San Jac forces second game in Region 14 tourney final against NTCC Eagles

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Baseball team picked up its first loss of the Region 14 tournament Tuesday night after falling 9-3 to San Jacinto College. The Eagles will play San Jacinto again at 1 p.m. Wednesday to determine which team is headed to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Both teams got on the board early, with two runs apiece in the first inning. NTCC's runs came from back-to-back homers by Taylor Barber and Kyle Moos.

Eagles Baseball visits local students

When Titus County Reads came to Corprew Elementary School to give a book to each student on the campus, the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles Baseball team came along to help. The players helped students select their books and then sat with them in the Library to read the books and talk about what they had read.

?We?d like to thank Titus County Reads for donating these books so every student on the Corprew campus could choose a book of their own,? said MPISD Director of Communication Dr. Judith Saxton. ?For some of these students this may be the very first book they own.

Eagles Athletics helps Habitat for Humanity

On August 24 100+ Northeast Texas Community College Eagles swooped down and landed on six Habitat for Humanity lots on 9th street in Mount Pleasant. Directed by coaches Josh Stewart, Shane Wedd, Jessica Keith, Donovan Dowling, and Kayla King; as well as Habitat volunteers Tim Hart and Ronny White, the students attacked neglected homesites. Members of the softball, baseball and soccer teams (including coaches) spent the day clearing the lots of rotting trees, briars, and other assorted trash. The team was provided with a barbecue lunch by Ronny Farmer.

Cypress Bank supports The Campaign for the Whatley



Cypress Bank recently presented the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation with a check for $2,500. This gift, part of a total pledge of $5,000, was given in support of The Campaign for the Whatley - a community effort to revitalize the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at NTCC. The spirit of Christmas came to Northeast Texas Community College last week†as†Communities In Schools (CIS) Coordinators and†volunteers gathered and boxed food to help feed local residents this holiday season.†The Spirt of Christmas food drive, sponsored by CIS, Brookshire's and Super 1 Foods, provided enough food for 500 families in Northeast Texas.

Eagles sweep Navarro, clinch regular season title

The NTCC Eagles moved one step closer to the Junior College World Series Wednesday as they swept defending national champion Navarro to earn the regular season conference title.

A pair of outstanding pitching performances from starters Jordan Marah and Tanner Allgood, coupled with a strong defensive showing, carried the day as the Eagles defeated the visiting Bulldogs 3-1 and 2-0.

With the wins, the Eagles finish the regular season 26-10 in Region XIV Eastern Zone play and 33-14 overall.

Eagles battle Navarro for conference title Wednesday

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles baseball team is hoping for †a large home crowd Wednesday†afternoon as they battle Navarro College for the Region XIV†Eastern Zone regular-season title.


The two teams enter Wednesday?s matchup in a virtual tie†atop the standings with an Eagle sweep earning NTCC the†title outright. While the games mark the end of the regular†season for the Eagles, the Bulldogs finish their season with†a pair of games at Paris Junior College Saturday.
