The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education and Corporate Training department facilitated a seven-hour professional development leadership training for UT Health Pittsburg and UT Health Quitman at NTCC's Hanson Sewell Center this week.
Thirty participants were engaged in this initiative, which was aimed at providing them with crucial skills for effective leadership in their respective healthcare sectors.
UT Health was able to leverage funds from a $25,000 grant that the Pittsburg Economic Development Corporation generously
awarded the college. A portion of these funds covered half of the training costs. This financial support eased the financial burden on UT Health entities, enabling them to invest in their team at a nominal cost.
"For a company like this to allocate some key employees to a day of training speaks volumes about the support from upper leadership. This emphasizes the importance of both individual commitment and organizational endorsement in promoting leadership development," Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at NTCC, said.
The training encompasses various modules, addressing leadership strategies, effective communication, engagement, organizational change, team building, and other topics tailored to the specific challenges encountered in the healthcare industry. Participants were involved in interactive sessions, and multiple collaborative activities.
