Harley Jo Chaffin was selected as the Longview Orthopaedic Star Foundation student of the week for March 5th-11th. Harley Jo competes for the Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team.
A valued member of the team, Chaffin, from Ivanhoe, Texas competes in Goat tying, Ladies Breakaway and Team Roping for the Eagles. Chaffin was the 2021 Region 4 Texas High School Rodeo Champion prior to coming to NTCC.
Harley Jo has been involved out of the Arena as well, working for Communities in School, Chairperson of the NTCC Kids Rodeo, and helps with outreach and Social Media for the NTCC Rodeo Program.
Coach Justin Hampton says “As a coach I can call upon Harley Jo anytime to complete and lead any task that needs to be done to help the program, this is one of the reasons she is invaluable to the Eagle Rodeo program”.
Harley Jo is the daughter of Stephanie and Gerald Chaffin and a Horticulture Major here at Northeast Texas Community College. “NTCC is proud to have Harley Jo Chaffin selected for this honor to represent Northeast Texas Community College as an Athlete of the Week for Longview Orthopaedic Clinic”, Justin Hargrove Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director.
