Every semester full-time and associate faculty in NTCC’s Division of Humanities and Social Sciences can select an outstanding student, who is exceptional in some way. This semester, Sociology Professor Dixie Anders nominated Hannah Molandes.
Professor Anders explained that “Hannah has been amazing in my Introductory Sociology class. She was never satisfied with just producing the minimum required on assignments always going above-and-beyond. She did well on all exams but more importantly she was consistent all semester in exceeding expectations. If one page was required, she would write two. She turned her work in on time...........and usually early. Hannah's writing was exceptional. Papers and short answer responses were not only well-written they were insightful and well-supported by personal research ~ citations provided, even when that wasn't required! Hannah's communications with me were always professional and respectful yet personable. Simply put, I was just very impressed with this young woman and the efforts she put forth in my class this semester.”
Upon learning of her award, Hannah Molandes commented, “I feel absolutely honored to be receiving such an award, as I had no idea that there was such a thing being given out to students, especially since I am an online student. I really tried my hardest during this course as social sciences are not really my strong suit, but I wanted to make a good impression like I do for most of my classes! Once again, I feel absolutely honored to be given this opportunity and that my hard work was recognized.”
