NTCC Phi Theta Kappa chapter wins record number of awards at regional convention

Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College?s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, recently attended the Texas Regional Convention in Houston and came away with a chapter-record 30 awards. In addition to maintaining their five-star status as a chapter, Alpha Mu Chi was named a Texas Top Chapter.

Awards received by the chapter include: Texas Top Chapter, Honors in Action Award of Merit, College Project Award of Merit, Five Star Chapter, Honors in Action and College Project participation award, second place Yearbook, Texas Regional Hall of Honor for Outstanding Officers (Tyson Allen and Alicia Cantrell), Texas Regional Hall of Honor for Outstanding Members (Erick Gaytan Fernandez), District III Hall of Honor (Alicia Cantrell, Cassidy Watkins, Tyson Allen, Chesney Davis, Angela Garza, Nubia Sanchez, Kelly Brizuela, Gilbert Moore, Rhylie Anderson, Hannah Fouche), Five Star Competitive Edge Members (Cassidy Watkins, Brenda Godoy), and Distinguished Chapter Officer Team (Gilbert Moore, Kelly Brizuela, Alicia Cantrell, Cassidy Watkins, Brenda Godoy, Angela Garza, Tyson Allen, Joy-Lin Carter, Angela Garza, Nubia Sanchez).

Founded in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is a selective, international honor society that recognizes academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.

Representatives from Alpha Mu Chi will travel to Kansas City, Missouri in early April to represent NTCC at Phi Theta Kappa?s 100th Annual International Convention.
