Psi Beta inducts new members, installs officers

Northeast Texas Community College recently inducted new members and installed officers into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for students at two-year colleges. Inductees honored at the ceremony were (from left): Wendy Clark of Harleton, Nikki Martin of Mount Pleasant and Russell VanBibber, Jr. of Emory. Not pictured were Cailee Davidson, Bailey Hall, Rhonda Scott and Leonor Trejo.†


New officers present included Stacy Orr, President; Elvia Coronado, Historian; Lori Burns, Secretary; and Beverly King, Vice President. Officers not present were JoAnn Rodriguez, Treasurer and Rosalyn Taylor, Parliamentarian.†

Psi Beta chapters sponsor programs, activities, and participation in community service projects along with opportunities to present research papers at regional meetings, attend national meetings, and compete for national awards. Students are chosen for membership based on their outstanding overall scholarship and their scholarship in the field of psychology. Psi Beta is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society.
