Northeast Texas Community College is gearing up to host New Adventures Start Here New Student Orientation sessions for students entering college for the first time this fall.

Orientation is required for all new students, even if they previously completed dual credit classes in high school. Sessions begin at 8 a.m. in the Whatley Center and last until approximately 3 p.m. Students will attend a variety of sessions designed to help them become a successful student and meet with advisors to assist them with registering for fall classes.

?Students who participate in new student orientation have historically been much more successful than those who do not attend. This is a day to familiarize yourself with the campus, get to know the faculty and staff and sign up for classes,? Jeanni Pruitt, Director of College Connection, said. ?Our goal is for students to leave orientation feeling empowered and ready to take on the semester.?

Sessions are planned for Thursday, July 7, Tuesday, July 12, Thursday, July 14, Tuesday, July 19, Thursday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 26. Space is limited, so students are encouraged to sign up for their preferred date as soon as possible. The cost is $40, which includes a t-shirt and other supplies. Lunch will be provided by local sponsors. Students may visit ntcc.edu/orientation for more information or call 903-434-8190 to sign up.
