Congratulations to Kevin Collins, the July recipient of NTCC's Wellness Caught in Action honor!†
The wake-up call came June 6th†of this year... NTCC almost lost their most dedicated, enthusiastic, motivational, hard-working, comical jokester.† A quick decision by an angelic nurse at ETMC to use a clot-buster saved the life of Kevin Collins. Immediately after that incident he adopted a healthier lifestyle. He traded his ALL TIME FAVORITE biscuits and gravy for scrambled egg whites and an occasional whole wheat muffin with sugar free jelly. Raisin Bran, Cheerios, and shredded wheat are NOW a staple in the household. He has been walking close to 10 miles a week for a month and a half and is 35 pounds lighter. †We have begun a family walk in the evenings to get healthy physically as well as mentally. The rush of the day usually leaves no time for ?catch up? with our loved ones so our evening stroll is our reprieve from the daily hustle and bustle.††
†Kevin is so passionate about his job as water technician that he insisted the doctor release him to return to work the Monday after this life-changing event. He is committed to making sure the ?college water? remains in compliance with state regulations. We thank you for all of your prayers, kind words, and encouragement.††
