The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture program recently traveled to the Texas Junior college Agriculture Association (TJCAA) conference at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. This much-anticipated conference is a celebration and appreciation of agriculture that allows students a chance to network and compete with peers from around the state.
In addition to winning third place overall for Chapter Sweepstakes, NTCC Ag Students earned the following awards:
?We are so proud of all of our students who represented us so well at the TJCAA conference. It was a wonderful experience that we will all remember for a lifetime,? Rene? McCracken, NTCC Director of Agriculture, said.
Other students who represented NTCC in events were Peter Feijen and Alex Plunkett ? Ag Mechanics Quiz, Cara Cummings ? Animal Science Quiz. †Ragsdale also served as TJCAA state president and presided over the conference events.
Students were also treated to a great tour of local ag businesses: Southwest Regional Dairy, Veldhuzien Dairy and Cheese Shoppe and Texas AgriLife Research Center- Stephenville.† Connections, inspirations and a passion for agriculture and good food united our group and pervaded the tours.
