The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce that it will host a free concert by the popular duo Adler and Hearne on†Monday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.†The complimentary performance is sponsored†by†the Texas Commission on the Arts.†
†
Award-winning performing songwriters Lynn Adler and Lindy Hearne, both natives of Winnsboro, bring a style described as "a spirited blend of original Texas folk with jazz and blues overtones." They are part of the Texas Commission on the Arts official Texas Touring Roster, which ensures that all Texans have the†opportunity†to enjoy performances by outstanding Texas-based artists.
†
"Adler and Hearne are an amazing example of the unique musical talent that Texas has to offer. They†have†performed several free concerts around the area and they have all been well-attended and reviewed.†I†hope the community will come out to enjoy this free concert and see what the Whatley Center has to offer," Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.†
†
In concert, she (Adler) and he (Hearne) blend their voices and instruments in a spirited signature sound that reflects their true second-nature connection through song. The two met in Nashville while on solo musical journeys. Years later their paths merged in Texas, where they formed the duo†Adler & Hearne, along with their indie label†Spring Hollow Records.
†
Because†this is a free performance, seating is first-come-first-served and reservations will not be accepted. For more information about this and other events at the Whatley Center, visit ntcc.edu/whatley. Visit arts.texas.gov to learn more about the Texas Commission on the Arts.†
