The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Men?s Eagles Soccer team†kept their†undefeated record intact after†knocking off both Eastern Oklahoma State College and Murray State College this†past†week. The team was named tenth in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the September 2 poll.
Jake Winship put the first point on the board for the Eagles 20 minutes into the first half of Wednesday?s game against Eastern Oklahoma State. The†game remained 1-0†until 20 minutes into the second half when Daniel Nevarez gave the Eagles their second point.†Salvador Valencia†saved all three shots that Eastern Oklahoma State took against the Eagle?s, giving†the Eagles a 2-0 win.
Valencia saved both shots on his goal during Friday?s game against Murray State while his teammates†assaulted†the opposition's goal. Jack Beck assisted Eric Gonzales with scoring a goal†20 seconds into the game and†Yannick Kofi and Rimario Gordon followed suit shortly after, giving the Eagles three points within the first six minutes.
The Eagles carried the momentum through the game with Beck again assisting Adrian Cruz with the final point of the game, securing a 9-0 victory for the Eagles.†The men face Coastal Bend College at 4 p.m. this Friday followed by Laredo Community College at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Both†games are†at NTCC.
