Want to get away for a day? Consider joining the Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department on a travel excursion to the George W. Bush Library in Dallas. The trip is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 and will include round-trip travel to Dallas by motor coach and the cost of admission.
The coach will leave from the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg at 7 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. The cost of the trip is $60 for adults, $55 for seniors (62 and older), and $55 for high school and college students. Lunch is not provided, but the group will have a choice of dining at the full-service CafÈ 43 or more casual quick-service fare on the grounds of the 23-acre Bush Center.
"This is a great opportunity for community members to enjoy a fun day of fellowship and travel without the hassle. We can accommodate you whether you want to come by yourself or bring a whole group of friends," Judy Jackson, NTCC Camp County Liaison, said.
The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum serves as a resource for the study of the life and career of George W. Bush, while also promoting a better understanding of the Presidency, American history, and important issues of public policy.†† The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will tell the story of the United States in an extraordinary time. This 14,000 square foot permanent exhibition is organized by four themes - freedom, responsibility, opportunity, and compassion. Using artifacts, documents, photographs, and videos from the Library?s extensive collection, the Museum features a full-sized Oval Office and a Texas Rose Garden. Interactive features include a Decision Points Theater designed to take the visitor ?inside? the decision-making process developed during the Bush administration.† The landscape around the library and museum has been adorned with only Native Texas Foliage.
This trip requires average physical activity and participants should be in good overall health and have the ability to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances.
