The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host three special Buffet Nights on Thursdays this fall. These will be held †at the NTCC Culinary Institute ("Our Place") in historic downtown Pittsburg and are open to the public.
Dinners will be held†from 6:00-7:30 p.m.†on September 19, October 3, and October 17. Seating is restaurant-style and to-go orders will be available by calling ahead to 903-434-8333 The cost is $10 per person. Reservations for dine-in will not be accepted.
?In the past our buffets have been tremendously successful and we are excited about our upcoming meals.†This is a great opportunity for our students to get experience in real-world conditions and it allows us to showcase our program to the community,? Culinary Instructor, Chef Sara Hicks, said.
The buffet is prepared and served by students enrolled in the culinary arts catering course. September 19 theme is "Taste of the Tropics" and will feature chilled tropical cucumber soup, chipotle mango chicken, cilantro lime rice, glazed green bean bacon bundles, and Key lime coconut tart for dessert.
The October 3 theme will be "Noche Romantica" and will include: South of the Border tortilla soup, honey garlic fajitas with Spanish orzo, and coffee chili cheesecake with a churro crust for dessert. October 17 will be a "Rustic Harvest" that includes curried squash and apple soup, stuffed pork loin with a white wine cream sauce, roasted potatoes with garlic butter thyme sauce, and a pumpkin br˚lÈe tart topped with caramel whipped cream for dessert.†For more details about these events or to learn more about the culinary program at NTCC, visit†www.ntcc.edu/culinary.†
