The NTCC College Liaison plays a crucial role in engaging and supporting Hispanic and underserved high school students and their families in their journey toward higher education. The primary focus of this position is to guide and empower students and their families in making informed decisions about college, providing vital information, support, and assistance throughout the transition process.
Job Duties:
- Travel is required throughout the week to the following high school campuses: Union Hill, Harmony, Ore-City, Avinger and the NTCC Campus
- Build strong relationships with high school students and their families, particularly within the Hispanic and underserved communities.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with high school students and their parents, offering guidance, support, and assistance.
- Schedule and facilitate one-to-one advising sessions to discuss academic and career goals, course selection, and the college application process.
- Assist students and their families in completing financial aid applications, including the FAFSA and scholarship applications.
- Develop strategies to prevent "summer melt" by addressing any barriers to enrollment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with underserved communities, particularly Hispanic and first-generation college students.
- Ability to work and manage job duties independently and work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively to manage a large student roster
